TERRAFORMER
TERRAFORMER is a lot of land on Morgan St. in Chicago's Southwest side. This lot was once the site for a home. After a drive by shooting a couple of people were killed in this home. Later, the home caught fire and burned down. After that, a demolition worker dealing with the wreckage died from a collapse of the burnt remainders from the house's frame. The soil is to rocky from the leftover foundation for good gardening and the lot receives limited sunlight. There is a very large and old cottonwood tree that sits at the furthest end of the lot. This tree releases an incredible amount of it's cotton seed in the spring. If you have any questions regarding TERRAFORMER contact Christopher Smith via mr.christopherjohnsmith@gmail.com

The Terraformer Advancement Towards Interspecific Communication

The Terraformer Advancement Towards Interspecific Communication (TATIC) is an initiative focused on expanding the audience for art from a specifically human one to an audience that transcends specie. The first step in this initiative is to add multiple feral cat shelters designed by Chicago’s cultural elite to the Terraformer.   By doing this, feral cats will become an exclusive part of the Terraformer audience and any future programing will have to negotiate with the local ferals. Through immersive ethnographic processes the behavior and needs of the feral feline have been documented. The mass amounts of data collected have informed the production of these unique shelters which allow for a greater quality of life for the cats. Help us celebrate this exciting initiative on Sunday, October 27th between 2:00 and 6:00 pm at Terraformer, located adjacent to the building at 3216 s. Morgan st. Chicago, IL.
